STEVEN VANWAGONER

As a young man, Steven Van Wagoner served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned about honor, discipline, and leadership.

Steven’s journey began in rural Utah, he learned to work hard from an early age. He became efficient in helping his mother and many younger siblings maintain a healthier environment. Being the oldest among his siblings he understands the challenges faced by children growing up with a single parent and the experience of sometimes lacking basic needs.

Despite these adversities, Steven managed to connect with community elders who imparted their wisdom and leadership skills to him. He cherishes his memories learning from their wisdom and developing as a youth.

Drawing strength from his past, Steven has achieved numerous successes in his career. He has been involved in ventures such as Current Solutions, an electrical contracting company based in Southern California, Surface Savers, Inc., a product development and distribution company in Austria that focused on eco-friendly products and held the Green Building Council seal, a Color Me Mine franchise, an RV storage facility, and more. Currently, he owns and operates a storage facility business and manages several commercial properties. Additionally, Steven holds a Real Estate Brokers license and runs a Commercial Real Estate Brokerage called Biz Real Estate. He is also the founding and current president of Ogden Soccer, a volunteer-run community youth soccer organization.

In 2022, Steven began advocating for more park space in Ogden. He successfully brought together a thoughtful group of community members to support the Ogden Parks Initiative. This initiative is dedicated to creating resilient open spaces for our youths future.

Steven and his wife Carey have been together since 2001. They enjoy hiking, biking, and skiing the trails in Ogden, and playing soccer with their two teenage daughters. They have been residents of Ogden since 2006, having chosen Utah because Steven believed it offered an ideal environment to raise a family with respect for others and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

With his direct community knowledge, advocacy for youth, relentless energy to defend Weber County values, courage to speak truthfully on behalf of citizens, and willingness to take risks to improve Weber County, Steven is committed to representing every resident equally.

Steven has over a decade of experience building teams in Ogden and the Great Area. His goal is to foster collaboration between county elected officials and its citizens.

Steven is running for Weber County Commissioner - C, aiming to ensure that current and future generations have meaningful and quality community experiences in Weber County. He also aims to provide a voice to every resident who wants to participate in local government.

Upon being elected, he will work diligently to be your trusted representative for Weber County.
